Working Title
Working Title ended up as the first single from Snowclone's second album Radical Simplified Yellow quite accidentally. Tero wrote the song in late 2007 while the band was working on their first album. Anna liked it instantly and it was put aside for the future.
Musically, Working Title is yet another small step towards a new direction in the wide field of pop. The tempo is slower than usual and the chorus has an atmosphere contrasting with the verses. The arrangement contains references to Nordic pop tradition as well as a certain concept originally experimented with for My Song.
The lyrics tell a story about celebrities' life behind the scenes. On the outside, everything looks fine but the reality doesn't quite live up to the public impression.
Flashing lights
Endless parties
Splendid shows
Perfect smiles
Swinging moods (From bad to worse)
Fading bruises (I've learnt to hide)
Slamming doors (Enforce my role)
Broken vows
When the curtain falls, it's over
What they call a dream come true
They may envy me
But they don't know my part
I've been acting like a child
Outrageous and reviled
Making scenes to please the leading man
He directed me that way
Auditioned to portray the story
Perfect gentleman and his wife
Is the working title for my life
Screaming fans (Would eat him up)
Private stories (Just for the show)
Public eye (A friend for life)
Quest for fame
There's no honor, there's no glory
Behind the scenes of fairytales
Just a script he wrote
From which I read my lines
I've been acting like a child
Outrageous and reviled
Making scenes to please the leading man
He directed me that way
Auditioned to portray the story
Perfect gentleman and his wife
Is the working title for
Acting like a child
Outrageous and reviled
Making scenes to please the leading man
He directed me that way
Auditioned to portray the story
Perfect gentleman and his wife
Is the working title for my life
