Fall From a Height

The composition called Fall From a Height is even older than Waiting for Life, written in late summer 2001. Originally, the song carried the title "Never Been Loved", but it was never to be known that way. Some years later, work on the arrangement began, and guess what, aiming towards ESC and the Red Light Stop Sign album. Finnish lyrics were written with the goal to create something phonetically pleasant - and impronounceable for the non-native. At that point, the title was "Ainoain luo aamun laulannallaan" ('My one and only brings forth the morning with the way he/she sings'), which was quite swiftly shortened into "Ainoain" ('My one and only')

As Snowclone took over the track, the English text was born, because Anna didn't like the Finnish one. The concept welled from passion for flying, high places and free falling. The message is also to fulfil your dreams without caring what the others would do. Disco style was first tried for the arrangement but it was deemed too earthbound for such a soaring song. Eventually, we ended up with a mixture of breezy trance influence and interesting rhythmic elements. The end result is Snowclone's second dance track, though quite different from Heart-Shaped Ice.
